LYSISTRATA: CROSS YOUR LEGS SISTER! By Dr. Ardencie Hall-Karambé
(PERFORMING IN 2019 PHILLY FRINGE FESTIVAL)
-A musical adaptation of Aristophanes' Lysistrata ... is based on the originally Greek comedy in which Lysistrata convinces all the women to withhold sexual privileges and to occupy the main bank in order to force their men to make peace and end the war. This production explores the timelessness message “make love not war,” with a retro-late '60s/'70s style of production that offers up a fanciful, bawdy, and hilarious way to end wars of all kind. Lysistrata's fight is not an easy one, as she must deal with the misogynistic views of her male peers and even the uncontrollable libido of her fellow protesters.
Directed by Dr. Ardencie Hall- Karambé.

-The Ancestors are empowering the Daughters of Africa so that they may take their rightful place upon the throne. These soon-to-be queens of their own universe have fallen from grace and forgotten the story and beauty in which they were born. They must be prepared for their destiny and become worthy of the royal crown to be placed upon their heads. Each with their own individual issues, have forgotten their purpose, and therefore must be molded, re- educated, de-programmed of the brainwashing by the societies in which they live.
